More than the top layer
A lasting driveway depends on what sits below it. We assess access, levels and drainage before recommending the right construction for your site.
- 01
Survey & quotation
We assess the existing surface, ground conditions, access and layout, then provide a clear scope and quotation.
- 02
Excavate & prepare
Remove unsuitable material, establish levels and compact a suitable sub-base for the intended use.
- 03
Drainage & edging
Install agreed drainage, kerbs and border details, with falls that direct water to a suitable outlet.
- 04
Surface & finish
Lay and compact the tarmac, finish the edges and explain when your new driveway can be used.
Common questions
Planning your new driveway
Can you resurface my existing driveway?
Sometimes. We inspect the base, levels and drainage first. If the existing construction is failing, excavation and replacement may be the better option.
How much does a tarmac driveway cost?
The area, access, excavation, sub-base condition, drainage and edging all affect the price. Send your postcode, approximate dimensions and photographs for a tailored quotation.
Can I add a block paved border?
Yes. Contrasting borders, entrance aprons, kerbs and matching paths can be included in the design and quotation.
Do I need planning permission?
Requirements vary by location, drainage arrangements and the proposed work. We discuss these at survey stage; new or altered access may also need local authority approval.
When can I park on the new surface?
This depends on the material and weather conditions. We provide specific aftercare and vehicle access guidance at handover.
